OPINION Writing
March 18 week:
Introductions were entered and revised on Utah Compose at the end of last week. Conclusions will be finalized by the end of this week. All should be entered and revised by Tuesday, March 26.
March 27 week:
We are beginning our opinion writing unit.
April 1 and 8th weeks:
Students will be writing their opinion on whether the driving age should be 16 or an older age. We are reading articles and finding reasons and evidence for each. Then students will write their body paragraphs using a chicken foot as a guide.
April 15 week:
All 3 body paragraphs should be written by Monday night. We are moving on to the introductions and conclusions the rest of the week. End of year writing testing will be the week of April 22.
April 22 week:
All opinion writing, except for entering on Utah Compose, should be completed by Monday night. That includes body paragraphs, introductions, and conclusions. We will spend Tuesday and Wednesday entering this information on Utah Compose. If students don't finish in class on Wednesday, the rest of their essay should be completed Wednesday night. We are moving onto writing Tall Tales for the rest of the year.
